I don’t want to make this a cheesy graduation post but as the cliche goes, I never thought this day would come. On Sunday (yes, Mother’s Day) I walked the stage at the UIC Pavilion and accepted my diploma (holder).
Even though school is a headache at times, I realize how lucky I am to be able to say I’m a college graduate. I have accomplished so much (not enough, in my opinion, but I’m a perfectionist) and I’m ready to accomplish more outside of the world of academia. It’s bizarre to think that I’m done going to school every day, that my life is completely changing. I’m applying to jobs like it’s my job and I’m excited and ready to move on to the next phase of my life.
